As the year winds down, it’s natural to reflect on where we’ve been and where we want to go. Maybe this year didn’t go quite as you hoped. Maybe you achieved some big wins but still feel like there’s more you’re capable of. Or perhaps you’re just ready to turn the page and start a new chapter.
Here’s the truth: the best time to start fresh isn’t someday—it’s right now.
You don’t have to wait for January 1 to set intentions or make changes. You don’t need perfect conditions or a clean slate. Every moment offers a chance to begin again; the most important thing you need is clarity about the story you want to write.
Day One or One Day. Your choice.
We’ve all told ourselves the same story: “I’ll start once the timing is right.” Maybe it’s when work slows down, the kids are back in school, or life feels a little more stable. But here’s the thing: the “perfect moment” rarely arrives.
The truth is, you don’t need the perfect moment. You need to start small.
The end of the year is a powerful time to reflect and reset. It’s a chance to look at the story you’ve been telling and writing and decide how you want the next chapter to go. Not with pressure or being overwhelmed, but with curiosity and hope.
What Would a New Chapter Look Like for You?
Imagine you’re holding a blank notebook. The first page is the story of your life one year from now. What does it say? What’s changed? Who have you become?
This kind of imagining isn’t daydreaming. It’s the first step of reverse engineering. When you envision the life you want, you can start identifying the small steps to make it real.
Example:
Maybe you want to feel more creatively fulfilled. What small project could you start today that excites you?
Maybe you want more balance in your life. What’s one thing you could say “no” to that frees up time for what matters?
Maybe you’re ready to tackle a big dream. What’s one action you could take this week to get started?

The Power of Reflection
Before we discuss the steps to creating your next chapter, it’s helpful to reflect on the one you’re closing. Growth starts with awareness, and looking back with curiosity (not judgment!) can reveal valuable insights.
Take a moment to consider these questions:
What are you most proud of this past year?
What’s one thing you wish had gone differently, and what did you learn from it?
What do you want to leave behind as you enter the new year?
Write your answers in a journal or even on your phone. Reflecting on your wins, lessons, and areas for growth creates the foundation for intentional change.
What’s Possible in 2025?
This year ahead holds so much potential. It’s not about cramming your days with endless goals or striving for perfection. It’s about making small choices that align with the life you want.
This series is here to help you with that. Together, we’ll review the tools and principles for designing your next chapter, one intentional step at a time. Whether you’re embracing your creativity, building confidence, or making meaningful changes, this structure will guide you every step of the way.
Your first action step is small but powerful:
Imagine yourself on December 31, 2025.
Write a letter from your future self in awe of your changes. Example: “Dearest Vicki, I’m reflecting on this past year and can’t believe how life has changed. I am grateful you believed in yourself and were willing to step out of your comfort zone and create your blog and YouTube channel…”
What have you accomplished? What does your life look like? What advice does your future self have for you?
You might be surprised at the clarity and inspiration this exercise can bring.
What’s Coming Next
In January, we’ll talk about the eight principles of reverse engineering, beginning with Consciousness, the foundation for all meaningful change. But for now, take this week to reflect, imagine, and give yourself permission to dream big.
Because here’s the thing: Your next chapter is unwritten, and you hold the pen.
This is your sign if you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to make a change.
Please share this post with someone who is ready to start fresh, too, and let’s make 2025 the year of small, intentional change.
